Scouting
SRUMC has very active scout groups: Boy Scout troop 210 and Girl Scout troop 33

South Roanoke United Methodist Church has proudly sponsored Boy Scout Troop 210 for over 50 years. The Troop, which is part of the Blue Ridge Mountains Council, has a rich tradition of helping boys progress from Scout to the Eagle rank with an emphasis on building scout skills and having fun along the way.
The Troop proudly adds new scouts to its list of fellow Eagle Scouts. Congratulations!
The Troop meets on Monday nights in the church fellowship hall from 7-8 pm throughout the school year. Scouts are involved in monthly outings, which include backpacking, skiing, canoeing, bicycling, climbing, shooting sports, hiking, and more. The majority of scouts attend summer camps, often at Base Camp Ottari and one of the Blue Ridge Mountain Council’s specialty camps.
